PRIDE usually hosts the following events:

  • QRC Open Houses
    • Opportunity for members of PRIDE’s community to come out and check out the QRC! A very casual, laid back opportunity to meet with other members of the queer community.
  • QRC Art Showcases
    • Artists from PRIDE’s community can hang their art up in the QRC and members of the community can come by and view it. Additionally, people can put their work up for sale!
  • Movie Nights (Virtual, In-person)
    • A tradition made during the pandemic, PRIDE will vote on a movie and everyone can come out and watch it! Our most popular movie choice has been Barnyard (2006), a queer community staple.
  • Open Mic Nights
    • Members of Rice’s community (PRIDE or otherwise) come out and showcase their talents! In the past, we’ve had songs, dances, comedy sessions, poetry readings, and much more! Any and all talents are welcome!
  • PRIDE Week (Spring)
    • PRIDE’s week to be out, be proud, and showcase the strength and uniqueness of the queer community to Rice’s campus! PRIDE week is usually filled with events for queer students to express themselves and share what their identities mean to them. The week usually ends in a grand drag show, featuring queens from the local scene!
