PRIDE usually hosts the following events:
- QRC Hangouts!
- On Saturday nights, 9pm-12am, The QRC hosts Hangouts where we have games, crafts, TV, and nail art, providing a chill environment for anyone at Rice to hang out!
- QRC Art Showcases
- Artists from PRIDE’s community can hang their art up in the QRC and members of the community can come by and view it.
- Movie Nights
- A tradition made during the pandemic, PRIDE will vote on a movie and everyone can come out and watch it! Our most popular movie choice has been Barnyard (2006), a queer community staple.
- Open Mic Nights
- Members of Rice’s community (PRIDE or otherwise) come out and showcase their talents! In the past, we’ve had songs, dances, comedy sessions, poetry readings, and much more! Any and all talents are welcome!
- Rocky Horror Picture Show Shadowcast Performance
- Started in 2022, Rice Pride performs a Shadowcast presentation of Rocky Horror Picture Show around the Halloween season!
- PRIDE Week (Spring)
- PRIDE’s week to be out, be proud, and showcase the strength and uniqueness of the queer community to Rice’s campus! PRIDE week is usually filled with events for queer students to express themselves and share what their identities mean to them. The week usually ends in a grand drag show, featuring queens from the local scene!
